AUSX SUPERCROSS AND SKYCITY PARTNER TO DRIVE AUCKLAND VISITATION AHEAD OF CHAMPIONSHIP RETURN

AUSXusX Supercross and SkyCity Auckland join forces to extend Auckland race-week experience ahead of the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship’s highly anticipated return to New Zealand on Saturday, 31 October 2026.

The partnership will extend AUSX beyond North Harbour Stadium and into central Auckland across race weekend, creating additional opportunities for fans and the wider public to engage with the championship while encouraging visitors to stay longer and spend more time in the city.

As one of Auckland’s leading entertainment destinations, SkyCity will become a key hub for AUSX activity across the weekend, with a programme of fan, rider and entertainment experiences planned around the Championship event.

The partnership will kick into gear on Friday 30 October, with a free AUSX Street Party @ SkyCity bringing Supercross into the heart of Auckland ahead of race day from 4pm.

Open to AUSX fans and the wider Auckland public, the AUSX Street Party @ SkyCity will give people the opportunity to get up close to some of the biggest names in the sport, with rider appearances, Q&As and autograph sessions planned, including the chance to meet New Zealand’s own Cole Davies and international Supercross star Ken Roczen before they line up at North Harbour Stadium on Saturday night.

The Friday programme will also feature Supercross and partner activations, fan challenges, bike displays, giveaways and music and entertainment from The Rock, giving Aucklanders an opportunity to experience the sport and meet its stars before race day.

The AUSX Street Party @ SkyCity will form part of a wider weekend programme across Auckland, with Saturday night’s AUSX Auckland Supercross at North Harbour Stadium followed by the official AUSX after-party at SkyCity.

AUSX Supercross CEO Adam Bailey said the partnership represented an important step in creating a broader destination experience around the Championship’s return to New Zealand. 

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with SkyCity and create an AUSX experience that extends well beyond what happens inside the stadium on Saturday night,” Bailey said. “Our ambition is for fans to arrive in Auckland and feel like Supercross has taken over the city. SkyCity is the perfect partner to help us achieve that and gives us an incredible platform to connect our riders, fans and partners throughout race week. Auckland is a major part of the 2026 Championship, and we want people travelling to the event to make a weekend of it — experience the city, experience SkyCity and then come together for an incredible night of Supercross.”

We’re working together to build experiences across the weekend that give fans more ways to engage with AUSX, our riders and the sport. Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown said the wider race-weekend programme showed how major events can deliver benefits well beyond the main event. “Hosting major events is about more than what happens inside the stadium. They bring people to Auckland, create activity for local businesses and give Aucklanders more opportunities to enjoy what the city has to offer.

“Extending AUSX from North Harbour Stadium into the city centre means we can build on the event itself and create a broader experience for visitors and locals. That’s how Auckland gets greater value from hosting major international events.”

The Auckland round marks the return of AUSX Supercross to New Zealand for the first time since 2019 and will bring some of the world’s biggest Supercross names to North Harbour Stadium. New Zealand’s own Cole Davies will return home to race in front of Kiwi fans, while international Supercross star Ken Roczen will also line up in Auckland as part of a blockbuster night of racing.

The partnership with SkyCity forms part of a wider programme surrounding AUSX Auckland, with further announcements on race-week experiences, the AUSX podcast and additional fan activity to come.
