AMA WINNER CAMERON McADOO SIGNS FOR 2026 AUSX SEASON
2018 AUS-X Open winner returns to Australia to chase the SX2 crown, days out from the Townsville Season Opener
American Supercross star Cameron McAdoo is in for the 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship presented by Monster Energy, adding another proven AMA race winner to the field just days out from the season opener at Queensland Country Bank Stadium this Saturday, 3 October.
McAdoo will arrive in Australia fresh from completing his US season with Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki at the SMX World Championship Final where he finished his last moto in 6th, respectively finishing the West Supercross Championship in 7th and SMX World Championship in 11th
A proven race winner and consistent front-runner in American Supercross, McAdoo brings significant international experience, proven speed and the credentials to immediately contend for the AUSX SX2 crown.
“It was a tough year, the sport can be brutal, one minute I am finishing second in San Deigo to the eventual champion, achieving several podiums, and the next minute I am dealing with injuries. It was good to come back and slowing build during the SMX Play-offs and finish the way we did, I know the speed is there” said McAdoo.
McAdoo joins a stacked field with championship credentials; he will compete against fellow top 5 American Lux Turner and Australia’s best riders.
CAMERON McADOO:
“I’m really excited to be heading back to Australia, I have the fondest memories. The last time I raced there was the AUS-X Open in 2018 and we got the win, so I’ve got great memories of racing down there.
“I’m coming back with a lot more experience now. I’ve spent the last several years racing at the front in the US and I’m excited to bring that into AUSX.
“The Championship has grown massively since I was last there and the level of riders coming in this year is impressive. I’m ready to get down there, get to work with the team and go racing.”
ADAM BAILEY, AUSX CEO:
“Cameron is someone we’ve watched closely, and his vigour and commitment clearly shine through in his racing. He always races with heart, and that’s why he is so adored by the fans.
“The fact that we continue to attract the attention of race-winning international riders is a real credit to everyone involved in the Australian Championship. The global attention AUSX receives is clearly evident in the calibre of riders who have raced here, both past and present.
Riders such as Ken Roczen, Justin Brayton, Dean Wilson, Joey Savatgy and Christian Craig are all among the best racers in the world, and we’ve had the privilege of welcoming them to Australia and seeing them compete in our championship.
“The level of international talent coming into AUSX this year is exceptional. Cameron adds another genuine contender to that mix and strengthens what is already an incredibly competitive field. We’re excited to have him here and to see what he brings.”
